Thank you for submitting your response to our recall form.
What’s next?
The next step is to organise your control arms to be replaced with new Blackhawk Ultimate Upper Control Arms.
The easiest way to do this is to contact one of our Dealers local to you, and book your vehicle in to have the control arms replaced and the vehicle aligned. Our list of Dealers can be found here. This will be done at no cost to you.
Alternatively, you are free to have the replacement control arms fitted by a mechanic of your choosing, and then be reimbursed for the cost. If you wish to receive the replacement control arms directly to organise fitment independently, please contact us at hello@blackhawk4x4.com and we will assist you further. When you have had the arms replaced and the vehicle aligned, please contact us again with your receipts for reimbursement. The old arms MUST be returned to Blackhawk4x4 to ensure they are removed from the market.
FAQs
What is wrong with the Blackhawk UCA?
- We have identified a manufacturing issue in one component that could potentially affect long-term product performance. While our products meet all quality standards and NCOP ADR regulations, we are proactively recalling and replacing all current products to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. To mitigate such risks in the future, we have enhanced our quality assurance processes and refined our manufacturing practices.
How do we know the new ones are ok?
- We have enhanced our long-standing quality control processes to include additional checks. Tests were conducted in Australia at a NATA-accredited facility, along with SGS approved batch testing during manufacturing. These measures were applied during the original development and have been further improved based on the new information.
What will the new upper control arms cost?
- Blackhawk4x4 will be covering the cost of the new replacement UCA’s.
Will you cover my labour costs?
- Yes, Blackhawk will be covering the labour costs to remove the upper control arms, replace them with new ones, and wheel align the vehicle.
Do I need a wheel alignment?
- Yes, all replacements will include a new wheel alignment to ensure your vehicle is as good as can be.
How long will it take to fix?
- Once you have a confirmed booking with one of our Dealers, or a mechanic of your choosing, as an indication of timing based on our knowledge of replacement, it should take an accredited mechanic approximately 90 minutes to replace.
Who can replace the UCA’s?
- You can use your preferred choice of mechanic, or we can assist in recommending someone in your area. The Blackhawk4x4 website can show you installers in your area. This product should always be fitted by a skilled and qualified mechanic/suspension specialist.
How do I get reimbursed?
- Contact Blackhawk4x4 at hello@blackhawk4x4.com with a copy of your receipt and your details and we will process your reimbursement.
Is my car affected?
- If you purchased Blackhawk UCA’s for your vehicle prior to November 2024 then yes, let’s replace them to have 100% confidence. There are batch codes laser etched to all Upper Control Arms which need to be verified to be eligible, then we need to replace your adjustable UCA’s.
